There are so many sites that suggest what you should be trying on holiday? Should i try going to some of these places? All of the items above can help you to enjoy your vacation, but what can you do to avoid the things that can make it worse? In Thailand laws are very strict, so here are six important do not’s for you to remember!

1. OK anything religious that comes into your mind, please keep to yourself, the Thai people are very religious, Buddhism being the dominant religion. Do not climb over any statues of Buddha, and do not deface them. Just because you were a vandal back home you won’t get away with it here, these statues are considered sacred projections of their god!
2. This country is a respecting country, different to Bangkok, the rest of Thailand likes to see itself as a well mannered and polite country. Women, sorry but you will have to keep clothes on at night as well, Men you may remove a shirt at night if you must in public.
3. In Bangkok you can get away with a lot, in fact this is the most westernised city in Thailand, but even Bangkok can hold dangers! People tend to be very fast with their fingers and hands, so watch out for pick pockets they will grab your wallet without you even knowing. Don’t let yourself down by forgetting to bring protection, be safe, you never know what you will do after a bunch of drinks!
4. DO NOT GET CAUGHT WITH DRUGS ABOUT YOUR PERSON. Hard drugs could land you in some serious trouble, incomparable to anything else, there was one example where a man was caught with heroin and sentenced to death!
5. Definitely do not stay to long! Unlike over here, if you are discovered without a valid visa, you will not be deported, you will be sent directly to jail, don’t pass go and definitely don’t collect 200 dollars!
6. Don’t just fall for one girl straight away and give her your everything. This could be the end of your savings, it may sound cynical but it is important to keep all your bank details to yourself, at least for the time being!
